1,457 traffic violation cases filed by DMP in Dhaka crackdown
Bangla Press Desk: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,457 cases against traffic law violators during an ongoing drive in the capital that ended at 6:00 am today (Thursday).
According to DMP sources, 65 cases were filed in the Ramna Traffic Division, involving five buses, one covered van, nine CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 21 motorcycles, BSS reports.
In the Lalbagh Division, 127 cases were filed involving five buses, five trucks, one covered van, six CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 78 motorcycles.
Motijheel Division recorded the highest number of cases, with 463 filed, including 20 buses, two trucks, 29 covered vans, 136 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 223 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, Wari Traffic Division recorded 142 cases, including 26 buses, eight trucks, 16 covered vans, 20 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 39 motorcycles.
In Tejgaon Division, 176 cases were filed involving six buses, one truck, three covered vans, 37 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 82 motorcycles.
Mirpur Division filed 206 cases, including 10 buses, six trucks, six covered vans, 28 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 127 motorcycles.
In Uttara Division, 163 cases were filed involving 13 buses, seven trucks, 13 covered vans, 20 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 65 motorcycles.
Gulshan Traffic Division filed 115 cases, including five buses, one truck, 10 covered vans, 10 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 30 motorcycles.
Additionally, during the drives, a total of 388 vehicles were impounded and 216 vehicles were towed.
The cases were filed as part of ongoing enforcement drives carried out across different areas of the capital by the DMP Traffic Division.
The DMP Traffic Division said such drives will continue to ensure traffic discipline in the DMP areas.
