15% house rent allowance for MPO-affiliated teachers effective from today
Bangla Press Desk: The 15 percent house rent of the basic salary of MPO teachers working in private educational institutions is effective from today. It was increased by 7.5 percent during the interim government.
From July, the second phase is increasing by 7 percent to 15 percent.
MOUSI related people said that according to the government's previous decision, MPO teachers and employees will receive 15 percent house rent from July this year.
Officials say that the issue of increasing the house rent of teachers of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (MOUSI) has been resolved. There is no uncertainty about this. Teachers and employees will receive the increased house rent from this month.
On October 21 last year, the Finance Ministry agreed to increase the house rent allowance of MPO teachers and employees working in private educational institutions by 15 percent.
The consent letter issued by the ministry on that day stated that, taking into account the limitations of the government's existing budget, the house rent allowance for teachers and employees under MPO working in private educational institutions has been fixed at 7.5 percent of the basic salary (minimum Tk 2,000) from November 1, 2025, and an additional 7.5 percent in addition to the 7.5 percent, i.e. a total of 15 percent of the basic salary (minimum Tk 2,000), subject to compliance with the following conditions.
