Bangla Press Desk: For the first time in history, Bangladesh is officially forming a national futsal team to take part in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers, set to be held from 20 to 24 September in Malaysia.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Thursday named a 24-member preliminary squad following a training and evaluation phase under Iranian head coach Saeid Khodarahmi.
Bangladesh have been placed in Group G alongside Iran, the UAE and hosts Malaysia. This marks the country’s debut in any AFC-level futsal event.
Coach Khodarahmi, 59, has focused on introducing players to the basics of the indoor format and building a squad with long-term potential. The top team from each group and the seven best runners-up will qualify for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Indonesia.
