Bangla Press Desk: Three people were killed and two others injured in two separate motorcycle accidents in Gazipur.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, said police.
Mehedi Hasan, officer-in-charge of GMP's Sadar Police Station, said the accidents occurred between midnight and 12:30am today in Rajendrapur of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway and Rice Research Institute (RRI) areas.
He said two people were killed in a motorcycle crash in the Rajendrapur area. Receiving information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Gazipur Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College morgue for autopsy.
On the other hand, Assistant Sub-Inspector Samiul, duty officer of Sadar Police Station, said around 12:30am, three youths were on a motorcycle at the Shibbari-Chandana intersection. When they reached the RRI area, their motorcycle collided head-on with a private car coming from the opposite direction.
A pillion rider fell on the road and died on the spot. The rider and the other pillion were seriously injured.
The injured have been rescued and admitted to Gazipur Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
Police said efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
