3-year-old child falls into deep tube well in Raozan

Bangla Press Desk:  A three-year-old child fell into an uncovered hole of a deep tube well in Raozan upazila of Chattogram on Wednesday afternoon.

The child, identified as Misbah, is the son of Saiful Islam, a day labourer from village Joynagar under Ward-7 of Kadalpur union in the upazila.

Raozan police station Officer in-Charge (OC) Md Sajedul Islam said the boy accidentally fell into the hole of a deep tube well near his home around 4pm.

“Fire Service personnel were informed immediately and later started rescue operations,” the OC said.

He added that the exact depth of the tube well and how the incident occurred could not be ascertained.

A video circulating on social media showed locals trying to rescue the child using bamboo sticks.

Last month, a two-year-old child also fell into a deep hole of an abandoned tube well in Tanore upazila of Rajshahi and died.
