363 Held in Citywide Drive, 60 Cases Lodged: DMP
Bangla Press Desk: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 363 people during its regular anti-crime operations across the capital over the past 24 hours and filed 60 cases, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
The arrests were made during coordinated raids conducted by various crime and detective units of the DMP across different police station jurisdictions in Dhaka.
Among those arrested, 69 were detained by the Mirpur Division, 63 by the Motijheel Division, 50 by the Tejgaon Division, 49 by the Wari Division, 42 by the Uttara Division, 41 by the Gulshan Division, 21 by the Lalbagh Division, 20 by the Ramna Division, and eight by the Detective Branch (DB).
During the drives, police also recovered 86.5 kilograms of cannabis, 7,977 Yaba tablets, five knives, one pair of scissors, two stainless steel pipes, and three sticks from the possession of the suspects.The DMP said the operations were carried out as part of its ongoing efforts to curb crime, recover illegal weapons and narcotics, and maintain law and order in the capital.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals were underway, the statement added.
