49th BCS appointments announced for 611 candidates

Bangla Press Desk:  The Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday issued a gazette notification appointing 611 candidates recommended in the 49th BCS (Special) Examination-2025.

According to the notification, the candidates have been appointed to the Bangladesh Civil Service (General Education) cadre in accordance with the recommendation made by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission on November 27, 2025, and under the National Pay Scale 2026, reports BSS.

The appointed candidates have been asked to join their respective workplaces designated by the Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education, Secondary and Higher Education Division, by October 12.

If any candidate fails to join within the stipulated time, he or she will be considered unwilling to join the service and the appointment will be deemed cancelled, the notification said.

As part of the conditions of appointment, the candidates will have to undergo foundation training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre or any government-designated training institution.

They will also have to complete professional and special training at the concerned offices as prescribed by the government, it added.

The appointed candidates will serve as probationers for two years. The government may extend the probationary period by up to two more years if necessary.

During the probationary period, if any candidate is found unsuitable for continuation in the service, the government may terminate their service without assigning any reason and without consulting the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, according to the notification.

The candidates will be confirmed in the service after successfully completing the foundation and professional training, passing the departmental examination and satisfactorily completing the probationary period.
