600,000 people left without electricity in Ukraine following Russian attacks.

BanglaPress Desk: At least four people were killed in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, during overnight Russian attacks. The strikes caused extensive damage to the country's power infrastructure, leaving at least 600,000 people without electricity. Meanwhile, reports indicate one person was killed in Russia's Saratov region.
Following the attacks on Wednesday, Russia and Ukraine traded fresh accusations against each other, according to Anadolu Agency.
In a statement on Telegram, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that three people were killed in the capital due to Russian shelling. Emergency rescue operations and debris clearance were carried out across three districts.
The statement noted that a fire broke out in a multi-story building in the Desnianskyi district after it was struck; the fire was subsequently brought under control, and 16 residents were rescued. Twenty-one people, including a child, were injured in the incident. In the Holosiivskyi district, another person was killed and one injured in an attack on a non-residential building.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that massive ballistic missile attacks targeted energy infrastructure in the capital and surrounding areas, resulting in power outages across various parts of the city.
Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that five people were injured when a drone struck the garage of a civilian facility in the town of Derhachi, in the northeastern Kharkiv region.
The Ukrainian Air Force claimed that during the overnight attacks targeting the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, 115 out of 128 drones and four out of 39 missiles launched by Russia were shot down.
In a statement on the social media platform X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the attack as premeditated and its scale as a show of force. He alleged that Russia is disregarding statements made by the US President.
Zelenskyy further stated that at least 600,000 people in Ukraine were left without electricity as a result of the attacks. Twenty-six facilities within the country's power system and four installations in the oil and gas sector have sustained severe damage.
Amidst this situation, Zelenskyy has called for the imposition of harsh sanctions against Russia. At the same time, he has requested the supply of additional Patriot missile defense systems to bolster Ukraine's air defenses.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defence has claimed to have launched massive strikes targeting communication and energy infrastructure in the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions. According to the ministry, these facilities were being used to support Ukraine's military-industrial complex.
