84 arrested, including AL-Chhatra League leaders and activists, on various charges including assault and sabotage

Bangla Press Desk:   84 people have been arrested on various charges including assault and sabotage. They were arrested in raids conducted in different parts of the country on Monday (June 22) night and Tuesday. Among those arrested are leaders and activists of the banned Awami League, Jubo League, and the banned Chhatra League.
Representatives said that in a separate raid in Chandina, Comilla, accused Md. Abdullah and Md. Yunus Mia, who were listed in GR warrants, were arrested. Keshab Biswas, Md. Anwar Hossain, Md. Faisal Ahmed were arrested in an anti-drug raid. Bataghasi Union Awami League vice-president, former Jubo League finance secretary Md. Tamiz Uddin, and Kangai Union Krishak League executive member Md. Saiful Islam have been arrested in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Those arrested in Fatulla, Narayanganj are former Thana Awami League general secretary Sanaullah, Kutubpur Union Awami League general secretary Shahin Madbar and Fatulla Union Ward 5 Awami League general secretary Jasim Uddin Jasu Contractor.
In Ramganj, Laxmipur, suspected accused Kamran Hossain Raju, Sheikh Farid Shahin and Nazmul Islam Rabbi have been arrested in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act. In addition, Rubel and Sumon were arrested in separate cases.
In Katiadi, Kishoreganj, those arrested are Municipal Awami League vice-president Md. Jamal Mia, former Upazila Jubo League convener Ruhul Amin Shakil, Masua Union Awami League vice-president Md. Al-Amin and former Municipal Chhatra League vice-president Md. Mosharraf Hossain Payel.
Those arrested in Kasba, Brahmanbaria are Mejbaur Rahman Rimon Bhuiyan, former president of Khadera Union Jubo League, Maqbul Hossain of Nayanpur village of Bayek Union, and Kamal Uddin, president of Kaimpur Union Krishak League.
In Agailjhara, Barisal, Bazlur Rahman, general secretary of Bagdha Union Awami League, Zakir Talukder, joint general secretary of Rajihar Union Awami League, and Rezaul Karim Rifat, leader of Bagdha Union Jubo League, have been arrested.
Amir Hossain, member of Khagrachhari Municipality Jubo League, has been arrested. Police have detained 6 Awami League supporters while preparing for a procession on the highway in Savar.
In Chandina, Comilla, those arrested are Golam Mostafa, general secretary of Kerankhal Union Awami Jubo League, Harun Or Rashid, active member of Chandina Municipality branch Swechchhasebak League, Md. Sumon Mia, active member of Chhatra League, Md. Yasin and Chandina Municipality Awami Jubo League Organizing Secretary Md. Mahabub.
In Ramganj, Laxmipur, Chhatra League activists Kamrul Hasan Prakash Raju, Sheikh Farid Shahin and Nazmul Islam Rabbi, warranted accused Rubel Hossain and Sumon Hossain have been arrested.
Police have arrested 16 people in Rangamati. They are- Ward No. 1 Jubo League member Md. Nurul Haque, District Sramik League President Md. Kabir, Rangamati Sadar Krishak League Vice President Champak Das, Ward No. 6 Jubo League Vice President Md. Nizam Uddin, Jubo League member Md. Ilias, Longadu Upazila Sramik League Vice President Md. Ismail Beg, Ward No. 6 Jubo League Vice President Md. Jasim, Ward No. 9 Sramik League member Md. Nayan, Naniarchar Thana Krishak League Joint Secretary Md. Tariqul Islam Mizan and former office secretary of the Kaptai Union National Workers League Md. Russell. Besides, Shahadat Hossain Jibon, Ram Prasad Shil, Zahidul Islam Babu, Md. Saiful Islam, Durjoy Kanti De Rintu and Hafizur Rahman.
Police have arrested two Jubo League activists named Billal Hossain and Sajib in Shyamnagar, Satkhira. 15 people have been arrested in a separate operation in Gazipur.
Police have arrested a young man named Hamidur Rahman Tayef Sarkar in Nabinagar, Brahmanbaria on charges of being involved with the banned Chhatra League.
Those arrested in Phulpur, Mymensingh are - Ruposi Union Krishak League convener Angur Fakir, Awami League activist Humayun Kabir of Bali, Chhatra League activist Md. Ramim of Rahimganj and Ratul Hasan of Godaria village.
Arrested in Nalchiti, Jhalakathi - Md. Mamun Hawlader (Mamun Maker), Md. Sohag Hawlader, former general secretary of the municipal Chhatra League Rezaur Rahman Raju.
