Air ambulance for Khaleda Zia to land in Dhaka at 8am Tuesday
Bangla Press Desk: The air ambulance, arranged by the Qatari government, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 8am on Tuesday to transport BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia to London for advanced medical treatment, said officials at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
A senior CAAB official said, “The flight has been granted landing permission. However, its departure depends on the assessment and readiness of the BNP chief’s medical team.”
Qatar rented the air ambulance from Germany-based FAI Aviation Group. The aircraft is a Bombardier Challenger 604 business jet, widely used for long-distance medical evacuations.
Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital since 23 November. Her care involves a medical board comprising prominent local doctors, alongside specialists from the UK, the US, and China.
