Announcement of dates for Ramadan, Laylat al-Qadr, and Eid al-Fitr in 2027

Bangla Press Desk: The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan has announced the dates for religious holidays and major religious observances for the year 2027. The holy month of Ramadan is set to begin on February 8 of next year.

This information was recently reported by the country’s state news agency, Kazinform.

According to the Islamic calendar, the holy month of Ramadan will commence on February 8, 2027. Following the month-long period of fasting, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on March 9. 'Laylat al-Qadr' (Shab-e-Qadr)—one of the holiest nights during Ramadan—will be observed on the night of March 5, 2027.

Next year, Eid al-Adha (the Festival of Sacrifice) will be celebrated over three days, from May 16 to May 18. The preceding day, May 15, will mark the Day of Arafat.

The calendar also includes other significant dates in the Hijri year. Among these, Shab-e-Mi'raj will be observed on the night of January 4–5, and Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the night of January 22–23.

Ashura will fall on June 15, while the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)—known as Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi—will be observed on August 14–15. Additionally, another date for Shab-e-Mi'raj is noted for December 24–25, 2027.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan has stated that the scheduled dates for these religious festivals and observances may shift by one day, depending on the sighting of the new moon.

Previously, the United Arab Emirates had already announced the projected dates for the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr for the Hijri year 1448, based on astronomical calculations.

It is worth noting that in 2026, the holy month of Ramadan began on February 19 and lasted until March 19, with Eid al-Fitr being celebrated on March 20.
