Ansar member dismissed for stealing mobile phones at Dhaka airport
Bangla Press Desk: An Ansar member has been dismissed from service after being caught stealing mobile phones from the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
A press release signed by Md Ashiquzzaman, Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party, confirmed the decision on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon, the Ansar member, identified as Zenerul Islam, was detained by security personnel of Biman Bangladesh Airlines while attempting to exit through Gate 8 of the airport.
According to the press release, Zenerul Islam was on duty in the night shift on 5 November. Driven by greed, he tried to secretly take out some button phones from burnt materials inside a damaged building, claiming it was for personal use. He was caught red-handed at the scene.
Considering the gravity of the incident, the Director General of the force ordered his permanent dismissal for committing a disciplinary offence, the statement added.
