Areas that will face a 10-hour power outage today
Bangla Press Desk: Power supply will be suspended for an extended period on Saturday (October 10) in several areas of Rajshahi and Bogura due to urgent maintenance and construction work. Separate notifications regarding this have been issued by NESCO Bogura’s Sales and Distribution Division-1 and NESCO Rajshahi’s Airport Sales and Distribution Division.
In this regard, the office of the Executive Engineer of NESCO Bogura’s Sales and Distribution Division-1 announced that, due to the construction of a foot-over bridge under the SASEC project near Jahangirabad Cantonment, the 33kV Rahman Nagar and 33kV Banani feeders will be shut down. Consequently, areas served by these two feeders will be without electricity for a total of 10 hours—from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM—on October 10.
NESCO authorities expressed regret for the temporary power outage necessitated by urgent construction work and sought the cooperation of customers in the affected areas for the sake of this essential service-related activity.
Meanwhile, power supply will be suspended in phases for a total of six and a half hours in several areas of Rajshahi on Saturday. The office of the Executive Engineer of NESCO Rajshahi’s Airport Sales and Distribution Division announced that, to facilitate the trimming of tree branches near power lines ahead of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja, electricity supply will be cut off in the Duari, Kumrapukur, and Bagsara areas (served by the 11kV Bagdhani feeder) for three hours—from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM—and in the area stretching from Teghor to Bagdhani for three and a half hours—from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
However, if the work is completed ahead of schedule, power supply will be restored immediately. NESCO authorities have sincerely apologized to customers in the affected areas for this temporary inconvenience, which is necessary to ensure uninterrupted power service.
