Bangla Press Desk: Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has returned home following official visits to Australia and the United States. He arrived back in the country on Saturday (October 17) after concluding his nine-day official tour.
During the first leg of his visit, the Army Chief attended ‘The Chief of Army Symposium and Land Forces International Defence Exposition’ held in Perth, Australia. While there, he visited Deakin University in Melbourne and held discussions regarding the expansion of mutual cooperation in education and research, as well as academic exchange programs, between the university and Bangladesh’s Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).
Subsequently, the Army Chief participated in the ‘Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition’ held in Washington, D.C., USA.
Throughout his visit, the Army Chief held courtesy meetings and exchanged views with key defense officials from both Australia and the United States.
Additionally, he visited various military installations in both countries.
It is expected that this visit will further strengthen the existing professional ties, mutual cooperation, training, and exchange of experience between the Bangladesh Army and the armies of Australia and the United States—including the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC).
