Bangla Press Desk: After nearly two decades, Shivam Pandit—portrayed by Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi—has returned to the screen. Fans are thrilled to see him reprise the role of Shivam Pandit from the popular 2007 film *Awarapan*.
Now, following its theatrical run, *Awarapan 2* is available for viewing at home; the film has been released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
Prime Video recently announced the film's OTT release through a promotional video. In the clip, Emraan Hashmi is seen spending some quiet time while listening to the song "Tera Mera Rishta" on his headphones.
His intense expression and the musical sequence evoke memories of a popular social media meme.
Announcing the film, Prime Video wrote, "Toh phir aao ek baar phir Shivam Pandit se milne" (So, let’s meet Shivam Pandit once again).
The story of *Awarapan 2* delves into Shivam Pandit’s life, exploring themes of remorse, grief, and the consequences of his past. A grieving Shivam is seen beside the grave of his partner, Aliya, in a remote village in Rajasthan.
He attempts to find new meaning in life after leaving behind a dark past. Just as he prepares to live a solitary life, a new relationship enters the picture, offering a glimmer of hope.
However, this attempt to start anew takes a dramatic turn. Shivam travels to Bangkok and finds himself entangled in a world of violence once again, forced to confront the very past he had tried to escape.
The story unfolds as Shivam navigates these challenging circumstances.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, this action-packed film features Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi alongside Emraan Hashmi. The movie was originally released in theaters on August 14. The sequel had been a subject of keen interest among audiences from the very beginning, largely due to the return of a beloved character from the original film. Apart from Emraan, Disha, and Shabana Azmi, actors Puran Gabbi, Vijayant Kohli, and Subvinder Vicky have also played significant roles in the film.
It is worth noting that *Awarapan*, released in 2007, was directed by Mohit Suri. Although it did not achieve the expected box-office success upon its initial release, the film later garnered immense popularity among audiences. Emraan's return in the role of Shivam Pandit after nearly two decades has once again evoked those nostalgic emotions.
