Bangla Press Desk: After a tense wait, Bangladesh’s under-20 women’s football team has officially qualified for the AFC Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup, set to be held in Thailand from 1 to 18 April, 2026.
Bangladesh earned their place as one of the three best runners-up across the eight qualifying groups. The tournament will feature the eight group champions, the three best runners-up, alongside host nation Thailand.
The final confirmation came after decisive results across other groups: DPR Korea’s 11-0 victory over Nepal (Group A), Japan’s 11-0 win against Iran (Group F), China’s 8-0 triumph over Lebanon (Group E), and Vietnam’s 3-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan (Group B).
Bangladesh had earlier defeated Laos 3-1 and Timor-Leste 8-0 in their first two group matches but fell 6-1 to Korea Republic in their final match on Sunday. Despite this loss, the young Tigresses secured qualification to the main tournament.
