Despite controlling possession and creating early chances, Bangladesh had to wait until the 24th minute to break the deadlock. Penalty corner specialist Ashraful Islam stepped up and delivered, giving his side a deserved lead.
However, Kazakhstan responded swiftly. In the 30th minute, Duyssen-Gazi leveled the score with a penalty corner conversion of his own, momentarily halting Bangladesh’s momentum.
The third quarter proved to be the turning point. Bangladesh came out firing and regained the lead in the 38th minute through Naim Uddin, who netted from yet another penalty corner. Just a minute later, Rakibul Hasan struck with a clinical field goal to make it 3-1, leaving Kazakhstan reeling.
