Barrister Suman Granted Bail by Court

Bangla Press Desk: The High Court has granted bail to Supreme Court lawyer and former lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman in two attempted murder cases.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Md Zakir Hossain passed the order on Wednesday (29 July).
Advocate M Liton Ahmed, who represented Suman during the hearing, said the court granted him bail in the cases filed with Khilgaon and Mugda police stations while keeping the relevant rules pending.Ahmed said the High Court had previously granted Suman bail in three other cases. However, those bail orders remain pending as the state has sought a stay, with the matter awaiting a hearing.
He added that two more cases against Suman are still pending before the trial court.
Barrister Suman, a former independent member of parliament, was arrested from Mirpur-6 in the capital at around 1:30am on 21 October, 2024. He faces several cases filed at different police stations in Dhaka as well as in Habiganj.
