BNP, Jamaat candidates remember Suranjit Sengupta on 9th death anniv

Bangla Press Desk: Election candidates from BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami in the Sunamganj-2 constituency on Thursday paid tributes to the area’s late Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta.

They published facebook posts in memory of the Awami League leader from the Hindu community marking his 9th death anniversary on Thursday. They have also been regularly referring to Sengupta’s contributions in ensuring a cooperative political environment in the upazilas of Derai and Shalla.

BNP candidate and former lawmaker Md Nasir Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Shishir Manir have repeatedly highlighted Suranjit Sengupta as a "unifying figure" during their efforts to attract voters. Even after his death Sengupta commands a large supporter base in the Sunamganj-2 constituency, where he was elected a lawmaker for seven times.Source: daily Sun
