BNP opens condolence book at Gulshan Chairperson’s Office
Bangla Press Desk: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced the opening of a condolence book at its Gulshan Chairperson’s Office to pay tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia, describing her as the “Mother of Democracy”.
According to a press note, the signing of the condolence book will begin on Tuesday and will continue over the next two days, allowing party leaders, supporters, diplomats and members of the public to express their condolences.
On Tuesday, the condolence book will be open from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. On Wednesday, 31 December, it will be available for signing from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. On Thursday, 1 January, the book will remain open from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
BNP leaders said the initiative provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to pay their respects and honour the memory of Begum Khaleda Zia for her role in the country’s democratic movement and political history.
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia (80), widely regarded as an uncompromising leader for democracy in Bangladesh, passed away on early Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
