BSF hands over 18 Bangladeshis upon completion of jail terms
Bangla Press Desk:  BSF handed over 18 Bangladeshis, including a couple of women, through a border checkpoint at Gangni upazila, Meherpur on Friday night, after they were released from different Indian jails. The Bangladeshis, previously arrested for illegal entry and stay in India, were received by BGB personnel, police and local administration around 10:30pm Friday. Earlier, a BSF-BGB flag meeting was held to complete the formal procedures. Subedar Md Shahabuddin, commander of BGB outpost at Kazipur border camp in Gangni upazila, said the returnees hailed from different Bangladesh districts. The Indian police collected them from different prisons of that country and handed them over to the concerned BSF team for repatriation, added Md Shahabuddin. Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge Bani Israil told reporters that authorities are trying to contact the families of the returnees and preparing legal measures over the incident. This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
