BSF's push-in attempt fails again
Patgram (Lalmonirhat) Representative: Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have foiled an attempt by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to push three Indian nationals across the Patgram upazila border in Lalmonirhat. According to BGB sources, the people brought by the push have now been taken inside India beyond the Indian border, according to BGB sources.
The incident took place at around 2 am on Sunday at the Dawarikamari village border of India, across the Kalirhat village border of Sadar Union of the upazila.
According to BGB and local sources, at around 2 am on Sunday, members of the Dawarikamari BSF camp of the 156th BSF Battalion in India tried to forcefully push three Indian nationals into Bangladesh by keeping them behind the border fence, turning off the border search lights and opening their gates. At that time, the BGB patrol team members of the Kalirhat BGB Camp (BOP) of the 61 Teesta BGB Battalion of the BGB immediately alerted the BSF and informed them about the active presence of the BGB patrol. The Indian BSF members' push-in attempt failed and they went inside India with the citizens. Later, the source confirmed that they were not seen near the Indian border anymore.
However, the press release stated that at present, round-the-clock surveillance has been strengthened with the help of the BGB and the local people to keep the situation under control. The BGB source confirmed that the situation in that area is currently normal.
