By 'PR' we mean public relations, says BNP’s Salahuddin

Bangla Press Desk: BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed on Tuesday said that to his party, PR means Public Relations or connecting with people, which "everyone is now engaged in ahead of the February general elections."

“That is the PR we believe in. Those who want to impose proportional representation to create permanent restlessness will not succeed,” he told reporters.

The BNP leader addressed reporters while paying homage at party founder Ziaur Rahman’s grave, marking the 46th founding anniversary of the organisation.

"In Bangladesh now an election mood is underway. The possible candidates are in public connection. In this situation, if any party creates confusion, creates obstacles in the way of polls, then the people will identify them, and there is a possibility that the people will politically reject them," he added.

The BNP leader alleged that it was evident some people were conspiring to create obstacles in the process of democratic transition in Bangladesh.

"Here, the international quarter may also be there. Here local and foreign forces are active, we can assume that. But the people of the country are united. Whoever creates obstacles in the path of democracy in this country, whoever makes any kind of local or foreign conspiracy, the people will resist them," he said.
