Case backlog to reduce by more than half within five years: Law Adviser
Bangla Press Desk: Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul has said that the country’s case backlog will be reduced by more than half within the next five years.
He added that one-third of pending cases would be resolved through legal aid.
He made the remarks on Monday while speaking at the inauguration of the e-Family Court at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court.
Stating that reforms cannot be implemented overnight, he said that reform means legislative changes, which must be carried out gradually rather than abruptly.
The adviser noted that the Ministry of Law is currently working on 21 areas of reform. The interim government, he said, will at least begin the process of introducing e-registration.
Dr Nazrul also remarked that political parties “love Bangladesh deeply” and expressed hope that they would continue the unfinished tasks initiated by the interim government.
Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan was also present at the event.
