Case filed over Ctg Jubo Dal activist Sajjad murder, eight arrested
Bangla Press Desk: A murder case was filed last night following a clash between two rival Jubo Dal factions in Chattogram’s Bakalia area, which resulted in the death of a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist.
Md Alam, father of the deceased Sajjad, lodged the case at Bakalia Police Station, naming 17 individuals and citing about 40 unnamed others.
Confirming the development, Bakalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Ikhtiar Uddin said that eight people—including six named in the case—were arrested during overnight operations across various parts of Bakalia.
“They were apprehended from multiple locations during raids conducted throughout the night. The arrestees will be presented before the court today (Wednesday),” the officer said.
He added that police are continuing efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and identify others involved in the deadly gunfight.
