Chief Adviser’s visit to Saudi Arabia called off amid domestic priorities
Bangla Press Desk: The planned visit of Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus to Saudi Arabia has been cancelled. He was scheduled to attend the Future Investment Initiative (FII 9) conference in Riyadh at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The high-profile conference was set to take place from 27 to 30 October.
In Dr. Yunus’s absence, the Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy for International Affairs, Dr. Lutfey Siddiqi, will lead the Bangladesh delegation to the event.
The decision was confirmed by both the Chief Adviser’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to officials, the Chief Adviser decided to cancel the visit due to the country’s current political priorities—particularly the implementation of the July Accord and preparations for the upcoming national elections.
