Child's body found in pond near house two days after disappearance

Comilla Correspondent:  The body of a six-year-old boy named Azmain Hossain has been recovered from a pond near his house in Barura, Comilla, two days after he went missing. His body was recovered from a pond near his house on Wednesday afternoon.The deceased Azmain is the son of Md. Shahjahan Hossain Saju of Odda village in Chitdda union of Barura upazila.

Police and locals said that Azmain went missing on Monday (April 27) afternoon while playing in front of the Odda Uttarpara Central Jama Masjid. Family members searched everywhere, including relatives, but could not find him. The family and relatives also appealed on social media to find the child.

Azmain's body was found in a pond near the house on Wednesday afternoon. At that time, locals rescued him. This started mourning in the family. The parents were speechless after losing their beloved child. His death has cast a shadow of deep grief over the entire area, including Odda village.

In this regard, Barura police station OC Md. Azharul Islam said that child Azmain died after falling into a pond near the house while playing. Upon receiving the information, the police visited the scene. Discussions have been held with the family of the deceased child. No complaint has been made by the family in this regard.
