Circular issued regarding the observance of national and international days.
Bangla Press Desk:The government has issued a circular regarding the observance of national and international days. The Cabinet Division issued this circular on Sunday (October 11).
The new circular mandates the observance of 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day' on November 7 and declares it a public holiday. It also notes the cancellation of the previous circular issued by the Cabinet Division on March 11 regarding the observance of national and international days.
The circular outlines specific decisions regarding the general observance of days, excluding major national festivals: elaborate decorations and large-scale variety shows should be avoided as much as possible.
Discussions may be held on radio and television, and seminars or symposiums organized on a limited scale; however, rallies or processions on working days must be avoided.
For the observance of any 'week,' the program schedule should generally be limited to three days. Care must be taken to ensure that government-sanctioned programs do not disrupt office operations, and efforts should be made to organize discussions or cultural events on holidays or after office hours.
Simple events that do not require the expenditure of funds or resources—whether in cash or kind—may be organized on either holidays or working days. Bringing officials or employees from outside the capital or district levels to Dhaka for the observance of any day or week should be avoided as much as possible.
To maintain cost-saving measures, ministries and divisions must observe similar national and international days jointly on the same date within their respective jurisdictions, prioritizing the observance of the relevant international day. Where applicable, ministries and divisions shall submit a summary regarding this matter to the Cabinet Division for presentation at the Cabinet meeting.
All relevant ministries, divisions, and agencies have been requested to strictly adhere to these decisions.
