Civil servant son made OSD over mother’s decomposed body

Bangla Press Desk:   The government has made Joint Secretary Anisur Rahman an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) following the recovery of the decomposing body of his mother Nurjahan Begum from a residence in Pallabi under Dhaka's Mirpur.

An official gazette notification was issued on Wednesday evening by the Ministry of Public Administration, attaching the official to the ministry.

Anisur was serving as member (engineering and development) of the Mongla Port Authority.

OSDs are typically considered punitive postings, with officials usually left without substantive responsibilities in the government’s policymaking or implementation processes.
