Cocktail explosion sparks panic near Holy Cross College in Farmgate
Bangla Press Desk: A series of crude bomb explosions took place in front of Holy Cross College and Holy Rosary Church in the capital’s Farmgate area on Wednesday night, triggering panic among locals and passers-by.
The incident occurred at around 10:15pm on 8 October. Although the blast caused widespread alarm in the area, no casualties have been reported so far.
An eyewitness said, “We suddenly heard multiple explosions and saw smoke rising near the entrance of the college. People panicked and began to move away quickly from the spot.”
According to several witnesses, two unidentified individuals hurled the cocktails and fled the scene immediately after the explosion.
Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain said police rushed to the spot upon receiving the news. “We have recovered two unexploded cocktails from the scene. The area has been cordoned off and an investigation is underway,” he added.
