Bangla Press Desk: Police recovered the hanging body of a college student from a house in the South Kacharipara area of Jamalpur district town on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Israt Jahan Rima, 25, a 4th year honours student at Jamalpur Government Ashraf Mahmud College and daughter of Rashidullah Mondal of Balijuri village in Madarganj upazila, reports UNB.
After receiving a call through the national emergency service number 999, police recovered the body hanging from a ceiling fan after they broke open the door of the room, said Md Nazmus Sakib, officer-in-charge of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station.
The body was later sent to the Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
According to Rima’s relatives, she had been married twice and had a son from her first marriage.
The child currently lives with Rima’s father in Ramchandra village in the Uliya Bazar area of Islampur upazila.
The house owner said Rima and a man named Shuvo had rented the house as a couple about four months ago.
