Courtyard meeting in Dhaka-17: Koko’s wife seeks support for Tarique
Bangla Press Desk: Syeda Shameela Rahman Sinthi, wife of late Arafat Rahman Koko and sister-in-law of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, continued her campaign on Sunday in support of Tarique ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
On Sunday afternoon, Sinthi held a courtyard meeting with local residents at the T&T Colony adjacent to the Korail slum, where she sought votes and prayers from women voters in favour of Tarique.
Addressing the gathering, she said the BNP was encouraged by the strong public response in support of the party’s election symbol, the sheaf of paddy. “Inshallah, BNP will form the next government with the people’s mandate,” she said.
Later, she visited a church near Badda New Market and exchanged views on the election with members of the Christian community, seeking their votes and prayers for Tarique.
BNP International Affairs Secretary Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim, Mehnaz Mannan, and leaders of local BNP units and its associate organisations were present during the campaign activities.
Earlier on Saturday, Sinthi began door-to-door campaigning and leaflet distribution among traders at Shahjadpur Subastu Nazar Valley Market and DNCC Market in the Gulshan area as part of her election outreach efforts.
