Dhaka-13 constituency: 4 valid, 3 canceled, decisions pending for 3
Bangla Press Desk: The nomination papers of four of the eleven candidates contesting the Dhaka-13 constituency have been declared valid for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
Four nominations were canceled, and decisions regarding three others will be announced later.
Today, Returning Officer and Dhaka Regional Election Officer Md Yunus Ali delivered these decisions in the presence of the candidates and their representatives at the Electoral Training Institute in Agargaon, the capital.
He stated that out of the 11 nomination papers submitted for the Dhaka-13 seat, four are valid, four have been canceled, and the Returning Officer will provide a decision regarding the remaining three candidates this afternoon.
Valid Candidates:
Sohel Rana (Independent), Murad Hossain (Islami Andolan Bangladesh), Md. Shahabuddin (Bangladesh Minority Janata Party), Fatema Akter Munia (Insaniyat Biplob).
Invalid/Canceled Candidates:
Sheikh Md Rabiul Islam (Independent), Mizanur Rahman (Gono Odhikar Parishad), Shahriar Iftekhar (Bangladesh Muslim League), Md. Khalekuzzaman (Socialist Party of Bangladesh).
Additionally, the Returning Officer will announce decisions after midday regarding Md Mamunul Haque (Khelafat Majlish), Bobby Hajjaj (BNP candidate and former Chairman of NDM), and Raju Ahmed (Amjanatar Dal), subject to the correction of minor errors in their nomination papers.
