Bangla Press Desk: The Dhaka University (DU) witnessed widespread protests on Monday after the High Court ordered the postponement of the much-anticipated Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections.
Following the verdict, students from several residential halls staged processions and converged at the VC Chattar and Raju Memorial Sculpture, chanting slogans demanding that the polls be held as scheduled.
They said, “We reject conspiracies against DUCSU, and polls must be held on September 9.”
Protesters alleged that the court’s directive was influenced by vested interests seeking to obstruct the democratic process. They insisted the campus remained peaceful and fully prepared for the election.
