Distribution of clothing among followers of the Sanatan faith in Ruhiya
Dulal Haque, Ruhiya (Thakurgaon) Correspondent: Clothing items have been distributed among devotees of the Sanatan faith at the Gourlal Chowdhury Sri Sri Durga Mandir in Dholarhat, Thakurgaon. The clothing was procured through the joint initiative and funding of the Gourlal Chowdhury Durga Mandir, Ramakrishna Sebashram, and the Dholarhat Sanatan Dharma Prachar Sangha.
On Sunday afternoon (October 18), sarees, dhotis, and other garments were distributed among 170 impoverished and needy men and women at the Gourlal Chowdhury Sri Sri Durga Mandir, located in the Dholarhat Union of Ruhiya, Thakurgaon district.
The distribution event was presided over by the president of the temple committee, with Abdul Jabbar Master—president of the Ruhiya Upazila BNP—attending as the chief guest to hand out the items to the devotees. Other notable attendees included Dholarhat Union Parishad Chairman Akhil Chandra Roy, retired headmaster Prafulla Kumar Barman, and local BNP leader Zillur Rahman Jewel.
Prior to this, members of the temple committee washed the feet of the assembled devotees, treating them as living manifestations of the Divine.
