Bangla Press Desk: DUCSU leaders on Monday sought Chinese government support for the construction of two new halls at the university, during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen. The new halls would help resolve the ongoing student accommodation crisis, the student leaders told Yao Wen.
The newly elected leaders of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) took part in a view-exchange meeting with Yao Wen at Chinese Embassy on Monday.
The meeting was attended by DUCSU vice-president, general secretary, deputy general secretary and other secretaries. DUCSU President and Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, along with newly appointed treasurer, chairman of the finance department Professor Dr HM Mosharraf Hossain, also joined the delegation.
During the discussion, the DUCSU leaders highlighted the importance of infrastructural development, enhancing housing facilities, and fostering mutual cooperation in research, sports and cultural activities. They also proposed the construction of two more halls at the university.
