‘Emon dine tare bola jai’: a captivating tale of love and secrets

Bangla Press Desk:    Popular digital platform Capital Drama continues to enthrall audience with its remarkable storytelling, and its latest release, “Emon Dine Tare Bola Jai”, is no exception. Written and directed by Jahid Preetom, the drama stars Tawsif Mahbub, Priyontee Urbee, and Mir Rabbi in the lead roles. Since its release on Thursday, the production has already captured viewers’ attention with its engaging narrative and stunning cinematography.

The drama unfolds a love triangle laced with emotion and mystery, culminating in a surprising twist. Reflecting on the theme, director Jahid Preetom said, “There are some stories that can be told to everyone—but not to the people you love. And there are stories that are best forgotten, yet some must be remembered forever. That is the essence of this play.”

Expressing his excitement, Tawsif Mahbub shared, “It’s been almost two and a half years since I last worked with Jahid Preetom. This is also my first collaboration with Priyontee Urbee. The story feels like a maze—just when the audience thinks they’ve figured it out, an unexpected twist appears.”

Meanwhile, Priyontee Urbee expressed both excitement and nervousness about her role, saying, “I’m very excited and a little anxious. It feels like I’m watching myself on television for the very first time.”

Director Jahid Preetom added that the screenplay has been designed to keep viewers guessing until the very last scene. “Throughout the story, the audience won’t be able to predict where the characters are heading or how it will all end. That uncertainty is the heart of this drama—and of its title. As a director, I love this cat-and-mouse game with the audience. Let’s see if they fall under the spell of my story this time,” he said.

Sharing his thoughts, Mir Rabbi added, “Some stories are more than just tales of love. They illuminate something deep within life—something real, like poetry. Emon Dine Tare Bola Jai is one such story.”
