Ensure there is no trace of fascism in your conduct—Rizvi to leaders and activists.
BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Bangla Press Desk: Addressing party leaders and activists, BNP Acting Secretary General and the Prime Minister's Industry Advisor, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, said, "The BNP does not subscribe to the anarchic reign of looting, extortion, and the seizure of people's land and assets that prevailed across the country during the fascist era. BNP's politics is rooted in peace, stability, and the rule of law.
Our conduct must remain free from any trace of fascism."
He made these remarks on Monday (October 12) at a discussion meeting held at the National Press Club in the capital, marking the 10th death anniversary of the late Brigadier General (Retd.) ASM Hannan Shah, a former member of the BNP Standing Committee and a former minister.
He stated, "Defeated forces and their patrons are conspiring in various ways to undermine the country's stability and disrupt social harmony. BNP leaders and activists remain vigilant and prepared—like 'sleepless sentinels'—to thwart any acts of sabotage or conspiracy surrounding the upcoming Durga Puja."
Rizvi added, "Conspiracies to endanger the country's sovereignty and independence, which existed in the past, remain active today. They are plotting to create chaos within various national institutions."
Referring to Durga Puja, he said, "Defeated forces and their cohorts will attempt to destabilize the situation. However, our leaders and activists will voluntarily keep watch over every Puja mandap and extend full cooperation to law enforcement agencies."
Cautioning party leaders and activists, he said, "In this political climate—achieved after a long 17-year struggle and immense sacrifice—we must shun the greed for posts and positions. We cannot compromise BNP's long-standing sacrifices and ideals for the sake of becoming wealthy overnight or securing lucrative contracts."
