According to the released information, in October 2009, public relations executive Peggy Siegal sent an email to an address associated with Epstein. The email referenced a film-related after-party held at Ghislaine Maxwell’s townhouse in New York. A list of several prominent attendees mentioned in the email included Mira Nair’s name.
International media reports say the event was organized following a film screening. Although the full content of the email has not been made public, reports suggest the gathering may have been connected to “Amelia,” the 2009 film directed by Mira Nair. However, the documents do not explicitly state this.
Mira Nair is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker and the mother of current New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. She was born in India and grew up in Rourkela, Odisha, before later moving to the United States. She currently resides in New York. She is the director of landmark films such as Salaam Bombay!, Monsoon Wedding, and The Namesake. Nair made history as the first woman director to win both the Golden Camera at Cannes and the Golden Lion at Venice.
Meanwhile, her son Zohran Mamdani has also made history by being elected New York City’s first Muslim mayor. He is the youngest mayor in the city’s history in the past 100 years.
