The ambassador also conveyed the European Union's support for the government's initiatives ahead of the upcoming referendum and the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

"As part of the process to monitor the elections in Bangladesh, a large European Union Election Observation Mission would be deployed," he said, adding that a team has already arrived in the country.

Ambassador Miller expressed hope that the strong relations between Bangladesh and the European Union would continue in the coming days.

During the meeting, Professor Ali Riaz briefed the Ambassador on various activities related to the upcoming referendum and thanked the EU for its support for Bangladesh's referendum process and democratic transition.
