Bangla Press Desk: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has remarked that, despite facing numerous adversities and living abroad for 17 years, Tarique Rahman has consistently stood by the people of Bangladesh during every crisis and disaster.
He made these comments on Sunday at Zia Udyan in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, following the offering of tributes and the recitation of *Fatiha* at the graves of the late President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Earlier, to mark the 27th founding anniversary of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF), Rizvi—accompanied by the organization’s leaders and activists—laid floral wreaths at the graves of Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated that, under the visionary leadership of Tarique Rahman, the Ziaur Rahman Foundation has managed to extend its reach beyond the national level, extending its impact even to the most remote and marginalized regions of the country. Whether during the COVID-19 pandemic, periods of excessive rainfall, floods, or severe winter conditions, Tarique Rahman has—even while living abroad—continuously provided guidance and ensured the delivery of humanitarian aid.
He noted that, even during the difficult times of a fascist, oppressive regime, the organization has carried out various innovative initiatives—such as online science exhibitions—to inspire youth and adolescents toward science and education. Furthermore, the organization has undertaken numerous humanitarian efforts, including providing artificial limbs to those left disabled by accidents, conducting tree-planting campaigns, and offering medical assistance to help individuals return to a normal life.
Present on the occasion were the Ziaur Rahman Foundation’s Executive Director Dr. Farhad Halim Donar, Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, and various other professionals, including physicians, engineers, educators, and senior experts from different fields.
