Ex-lawmaker Sabina shown arrested in two more cases
Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Wednesday ordered former Awami League lawmaker Sabina Akter Tuhin to be shown arrested in two separate murder cases linked to the July uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam passed the order following two petitions filed by the police.
The cases involve the killings of Moktaqin Billah and Ashraful Islam during the July uprising, the case statements said.
Moktaqin Billah was shot in the head while protesting at Mirpur-10 on 19 July 2024. He died the next day at a hospital. The murder case was filed with Mirpur police station on 7 September 2025.
Ashraful Islam was shot on 4 August 2024 while participating in the movement and later died in a hospital. The case was filed on 22 September 2025.
Earlier in separate cases, police arrested Sabina from her father’s house in Nawabganj on 22 June this year, and she has been in jail since then.
