Bangla Press Desk: Two Dhaka courts on Monday exempted BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas along with 104 others from two separate cases filed with Ramna and Shahbagh police stations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sabbir Faiz exempted Mirza Fakhrul and 76 others after accepting the final report of the case from Shahbagh Police Station.
The notable other accused in this case are-- BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Saiful Alam Nirob, and Sultan Salahuddin Tuku.
According to the case documents, on December 11, miscreants set fire to motorcycles and vehicles near the Bar Council in Shahbagh, just a day before the bail hearing for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case, allegedly to influence the court's decision and pressure the judiciary.
