Fire at Brahmanbaria Substation Disrupts Power Supply

Bangla Press Desk: A fire incident at a power substation has cut off electricity supply in some areas of Brahmanbaria district.
The fire incident happened at the old power substation in the district town’s Datiara area around 5:30am on Saturday. No casualty was reported from the incident.
Assistant Engineer of Brahmanbaria Power Distribution Division Md Nasir Uddin said, “A sudden fire caught an auxiliary transformer of the substation early morning. Fire service members later brought the fire under control. Power supply to some areas has been discontinued following the fire. Efforts are on to restore power supply after quick repairing.”
Senior Station Officer from Brahmanbaria Fire Service and Civil Defence Md Nazmul Alam said, “Fire service members quickly reached the spot after getting information and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes. The reason for the fire is yet to be known.”
