Bangla Press Desk: The Fire Service has brought a fire under control—after three hours of effort—that broke out in a warehouse containing cartons and yarn at Supreme Garments in Kashimpur, Gazipur Metropolitan area. The fire was brought under control around 1:30 PM today, Saturday.
The blaze began at the factory around 10:30 AM. Nine units of the Fire Service were deployed to contain and extinguish the fire.
According to the Fire Service and local sources, the fire broke out suddenly in the factory's warehouse on Saturday morning. The presence of cartons, yarn, and other raw materials caused the flames to spread rapidly. The intense fire and thick, black smoke sparked panic in the surrounding area.
Upon receiving reports of the fire, initial units from the Kashimpur Fire Service arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations. Due to the intensity of the blaze, additional units from nearby fire stations were called in to assist. In total, nine units worked for approximately three and a half hours to bring the situation under control.
Md. Saiful Alam Chowdhury, Deputy Assistant Director of the Gazipur Fire Service, stated that personnel worked diligently to ensure the fire did not spread from the warehouse to the factory's main plant or other nearby buildings.
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known. Further details will be available following an investigation once the fire has been completely extinguished.
The Deputy Assistant Director also noted that there have been no official reports of any casualties or injuries resulting from the incident.
