First Hajj flight takes off Saturday

Bangla Press Desk: The maiden Hajj flight is set to depart from Dhaka for the Saudi port city Jeddah at 12:20 am on Saturday (April 18), as the government has completed all necessary preparations to facilitate the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
A total of 78,500 Bangladeshis have registered their names for performing the holy Hajj this year.
"We have completed all preparations. The first Hajj flight will leave the capital Dhaka for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at 12:20 am on Saturday ," Director, Hajj Office, Ashkona, Dhaka Md Lokman Hossain told the FE at his office on Thursday.
He said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman would see off the passengers of the first Hajj flight at Hajrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
