Four Die of Suspected Measles in 24 Hours

Bangla Press Desk: Four people have died from suspected measles across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In a press release issued by the DGHS Control Room on Sunday, the health authority said 941 suspected measles cases were recorded nationwide during the past 24 hours.
The total number of suspected measles cases reported between 15 March and 28 June has now reached 99,207, while 11,710 cases have been laboratory confirmed during the same period, including 116 new confirmed cases reported in the last 24 hours.
According to the DGHS, a total of 82,844 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals since 15 March. During the same period, 79,152 patients recovered and were discharged from hospital.
The health authority said four deaths from suspected measles were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected measles-related child deaths since 15 March to 619.
No deaths from laboratory-confirmed measles were reported during the past 24 hours. However, the cumulative number of confirmed measles deaths since 15 March stands at 93, the DGHS added. Source: daily Sun
