Gazipur jhut warehouse catches fire, eight firefighting units deployed

Bangla Press Desk:   A major fire erupted at multiple adjoining jhut warehouses in Gazipur’s Konabari area on Thursday afternoon, promoting the fire service to deploy eight units.

Six firefighting units have already joined operation, and two others are on the way, said Saiful Islam, warehouse inspector at Konabari Modern Fire Station.

The cause and extent of losses will be revealed later, he told reporters.

Locals and firefighters, said the fire erupted around 4pm at one jhut warehouse. The Konabari fire service initially deployed two units to douse the flames. But as the fire spread to adjoining warehouses, six more units were called up.
