Bangla Press Desk: Female students have once again outperformed their male counterparts in the pass rates of this year's SSC and equivalent examinations, according to results published on Monday.
Across the SSC, Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) examinations, the overall pass rate among female students was 66.68 per cent, compared with 57.86 per cent among male students.
Girls lead in SSC, Dakhil and vocational exams
An analysis of the results shows that the overall pass rate in the SSC examination was 64.05 per cent. Among them, 67.91 per cent of female students passed, compared with 59.73 per cent of male students.
The pass rate in the Dakhil examination was 55.49 per cent, with 59.89 per cent of female students and 51.64 per cent of male students passing.
In the SSC (Vocational) examination, the overall pass rate stood at 58.20 per cent. The pass rate among female students was 67.48 per cent, compared with 55.19 per cent among male students.
18.57 lakh students registered
A total of 1,857,344 students filled in forms to sit the SSC and equivalent examinations this year.
Of them, 1,418,398 registered for the SSC examination under the country's nine general education boards, 304,286 for the Dakhil examination under the Madrasah Education Board and 134,660 for the SSC (Vocational) examination under the Technical Education Board.
Results published three weeks later than expected
The written examinations for the SSC and equivalent examinations began on 21 April this year.
The written examinations under the general education boards ended on 20 May, while the written portions of the Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) examinations concluded on 24 May.Results are generally published within 60 days of the completion of the written examinations. Accordingly, the results were expected to be published on 20 July. However, this year's results were released around three weeks later than the expected date.
SSC result re-scrutiny applications
Students can apply online for SSC and equivalent examination result re-scrutiny from 11 to 17 August.
The education boards will publish notices on their respective websites outlining the application process and relevant instructions for result re-scrutiny.
