Government holiday for Durga Puja extended.

Bangla Press Desk: An additional day has been added to the government holiday schedule for the autumnal Durga Puja. The Prime Minister has given the go-ahead for a government holiday on October 22 (Thursday) via an executive order.
As a result, government officials and employees will enjoy a continuous five-day break from October 20 to October 24. The Prime Minister's Office confirmed this information on Tuesday (September 29).
According to the official holiday calendar, there is an executive-order holiday on October 20 (Tuesday) for Maha Navami and a general holiday on October 21 (Wednesday) for Bijoya Dashami. A government holiday has now been declared for October 22 (Thursday) as well.
The following two days—October 23 and 24—are the weekly holidays of Friday and Saturday. Consequently, there will be a consecutive five-day government holiday from October 20 (Tuesday) to October 24 (Saturday).
This year, Mahalaya falls on October 10. Subsequently, Maha Shashthi will be observed on October 16, Maha Saptami on October 18, Maha Ashtami on October 19, Maha Navami on October 20, and Bijoya Dashami on October 21.
In addition to institutions covered by the standard government holiday schedule, this holiday will also apply to banks, financial institutions, and other organizations in accordance with relevant regulations. However, personnel involved in emergency and essential services must continue to perform their duties as directed by the respective authorities.
